This area could be described as rustic in ambiance but  has a friendly Calabrian atmosphere and sets the clock back many decades which is part of its charm and hospitality for the discerning holidaymaker.

It is also close to some of Calabrias Greek Temple remains and Medieval hilltop towns. During the summer months in particular the town has a lively vibe which caters to all ages with a lively beach area restaurants/entertainment/

There is

a weekly street market (just a few hundred meters from Vista Sila) on a Saturday morning with a wide range of fashion/clothes at discount prices
.
The town has good transport links and is on a rail line going south to Reggio Di Calabria and northwards towards Catanzaro. The Federico bus service also goes through the town. Coach tours are also available to the major Calabrian attractions. The nearby town of Roccella Ionica is well worth a visit to sample the "night time" atmosphere around the main Piazza and perhaps take in the world famous Roccella Jazz Festival in August .

Also in August Caulonia Superiore hosts a Tarrentella Festival in the Medieval town nearby.
